At PlayStation London Studio, we are on a mission to make award-winning, landmark games. Our upcoming PlayStation 5 online multiplayer game will be focused on a brand-new concept we are extraordinarily excited about.

Our new game is close to our hearts, as the whole team collaborated on coming up with the concept from the very beginning. We’ve seen this idea grow from a seed, and now we’re looking for new starters to continue our journey on shaping our plans for this AAA project.

We’re also a part of the PlayStation Studios family, a collective of teams - from Insomniac to Naughty Dog and many more. As such, we have solid support system – often knowledge-sharing industry advancements so that all our studios, individually lead the way to create memorable gaming experiences.

We are super excited to offer this rare opportunity to join our Gameplay Programming team as an Intern! We are searching for a driven, team-spirited individual who is eager to learn and make meaningful contributions to our projects and culture. We are always looking for new perspectives, and candidates from all walks of life are welcome. To ensure you get the most out of this role, you will be supported by an experienced mentor who will be on hand to provide advice and guidance.

What we’re looking for:

  • A passionate game player with an opinion about the type of games they enjoy.

  • Basic programming ability in any language.

  • Problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to communicate across teams.

  • Eagerness to learn.

What to prepare for application:

  • You will need to submit a CV. Cover letter is optional.

  • It would be great if you could submit a coding portfolio. Preferably, this will show any gameplay projects, such as, prototypes, studio projects or personal projects. They don't need to be in a finished state.

  • You will need to answer the below 3 questions, either as a video (can be a private YouTube video or uploaded to google drive and shared) or a word document/PDF.

Please make sure to submit your answers to the following 3 questions, either via PDF, Word Doc or Video. For written submissions, please clearly label your answers for which question they pertain to. For video submissions, please include timestamps for each question and clearly indicate in the video which question you are answering.

1) Tell us about some interesting programming you have done yourself, or something you have read or watched about. What made it interesting and what lessons did you take away from it?

2) What is your least favourite game and why? Could you think of any ways to improve it?

3) Think about a time you had solve a problem with no prior knowledge or experience in that area. What steps did you take to solving it and why did you take this approach?
