Twisted Pixel Games is seeking a highly motivated and talented Principal Visual Effects Artist capable of authoring top-tier quality visual effects across various styles. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of visual effects programs and possess the ability to solve technical problems to achieve desired results. The candidate will contribute a high level of creativity and personality, have a team-oriented collaborative approach to development, and is interested in doing what it takes to make the best games possible.
Principal Real-Time VFX Artist - Twisted Pixel Games Responsibilities:
Develop high quality visual effects and particle systems for a variety of gameplay and cinematic scenarios.
Work within the given performance guidelines to come up with impactful and performant effects.
Assist with advanced material creation, post process effects and lighting as needed.
Work closely with the Art and Design teams to ensure the highest quality assets are implemented.
Model inclusive behaviors to help build and support a diverse organization that values, respects, and taps into different backgrounds and perspectives.
Minimum Qualifications:
Expert in creating compelling Visual effects in any VFX creation software.
Experience with time management and handling large workloads efficiently with minimal supervision.
Experience with authoring original textures and assets for use in visual effects design.
Proven communication skills.
Experience being proactive about making things happen, and a drive to continue to learn and grow as an artist.
Experience in game development with successful completion of published games.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience authoring simulations in Houdini.
Experience creating 3D assets and materials in Maya or another 3D package as needed to support effects.
5+ years making VFX in video games, and experience on multiple shipped titles.
Experience authoring effects for VR.
Experience with current generation game engines like Unreal, Radiant or Unity.
Familiarity with lighting in game, material creation, and post effects.
Knowledge and experience with art creation software such as Zbrush, Substance Painter/Designer and Photoshop.
