NUEL
Who we are
Emerging from the university esports community in 2010, NUEL has a mission to widen access to esports and create memorable experiences for players. In addition to supporting thousands of students across the UK and Ireland, NUEL works closely with a range of partners to deliver activities in the university scene and beyond, as well as provide grassroots employment and education support. Since our acquisition by global technology company GGTech Entertainment earlier this year, we’re continuing to look to grow our team and capabilities in the region.
The role
We are seeking a full-time Social Media & Community Manager. Working primarily on our UNIVERSITY Esports project, their role will be to proactively develop and use social media and community channels to build relationships and communicate with students, student societies, and universities.
The successful candidate will be our primary eyes and ears in the community - alerting us to student needs, challenges and opportunities. They’ll also proactively use our various social media channels to publish interesting and relevant content for the community.
They will also take the lead, with the support of other members of the team, on planning and organising both in-person and online community events, including campus roadshows, educational workshops, and community competitions. This includes coming up with new ideas, budgeting and logistics, as well as working with local organisers (such as student societies and universities) for delivery of these events.
Our ideal candidate is somebody who is excited by working with grassroots gamers and finding ways to support what they’re doing. They’ll be proactive and energetic, eager to speak directly to students, societies, unions, universities, and other stakeholders and report back on their findings. They will be looking to grow with the team as we grow our capabilities and take on exciting new projects - the scope is there for the successful candidate to develop this role in a range of directions.
This role will also be called on to support our non-university activities, such as our recent work in the official Teamfight Tactics ecosystem.
Working Hours and Location
As we’re an events company, working hours often need to be flexible, requiring evening and weekend work to align with when activities are taking place. We will work with you to set appropriate working hours, and we have a flexible approach to time-off-in-lieu to support your work-life balance.
This full-time role is intended to be on a hybrid-working model with the successful candidate expected to divide their time between working from home and our office in Nottingham. We can offer support with relocation costs. However, for the right candidate, we can be flexible on this.
