Team/Job Summary: Within Nintendo of America (NOA)’s Finance & Accounting department, the Payments & Fraud team collaborate with external partners in the payment and fraud industry, as well as global and local internal Nintendo teams, to increase revenues, ensure a positive consumer experience, and mitigate fraud. The team focuses on strategies that optimize consumer payment method options and payment processing, while balancing fraud mitigation with continual monitoring and utilization of various fraud tools, all for NOA’s Direct to Consumer (DTC) channels. This job collaborates with senior leadership, setting overall strategy and defining operational process for chargeback execution and consumer transaction fraud investigations. This person will also lead efforts to detect and prevent fraudulent activity, manage costs, and optimize revenue recovery as well as drafting and documenting policies including risk assessment, mitigation steps, and response plans.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

  • Seeks opportunities to manage cost of fraud and chargebacks while optimizing revenue recovery.

  • Oversee the operation of systems and tools to support fraud investigations and detect and analyze fraudulent activity in real-time.

  • Contributes to the development and refinement of anti-fraud policies.

  • Leverage analytics tools to identify fraud patterns, assess risk levels, and measure the effectiveness of existing fraud controls.

  • Prepare and present regular reports on fraud metrics, trends, and key findings to management.

  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., Payments, Legal, Consumer Service) to resolve incidents and enforce corrective actions.

  • Remains abreast of emerging fraud trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously enhance fraud investigation efficiency and quality.

  • Manages, coaches, and develops team(s). Evaluates staff by tracking performance and creating individual development plans to achieve objectives.

SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of seven (7) years of related experience in fraud detection, prevention, or operations, with at least five (5) years in a leadership role.

  • In-depth knowledge of fraud prevention tools, technologies, and industry best practices.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency with fraud detection software, analytics tools, and databases.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to influence stakeholders and make positive impact in cross-functional initiatives.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or equivalent field that demonstrates quantitative and analytical orientation, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

This position is HYBRID in Redmond, WA. Hybrid positions require regular onsite work following the schedule and guidelines for their division. This position is not open to fully remote status at this time.

This position includes a base salary range of $102,500 - $164,000 annually, potential for a semi-annual discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off.
