DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

  • Translates technical and general communication into both Japanese and English.

  • Post-edits machine translated content between Japanese and English language pair.

  • Proofs and provides feedback on the work of other translators to ensure accuracy and quality.

  • Use translation memory and terminology tools when translating content.

  • Supports other technical writing, translation, and localization projects as required.

  • May be asked to interpret for in-house meetings, video, and teleconferences.

SUMMARY OR REQUIREMENTS:

  • Business level verbal and written fluency in both Japanese and English.

  • Must have translation experience and demonstrate the ability to translate from Japanese into English.

  • Ability to translate in both directions between Japanese and English is highly desired.

  • Ability to interpret between Japanese and English is highly desired.

  • Understands cultural nuances and uses phrasing that is appropriate to the target audience.

  • Excels at learning new content, complex processes, and the use of software and tools.

  • Experience using translation memory software is preferred.

  • Familiarity with software development processes is preferred.

  • Familiarity with Confluence and JIRA software is desired.

  • Familiarity and interest in Nintendo games and systems is desired.

This position is hybrid in Redmond, WA. Hybrid positions require regular onsite work following the schedule and guidelines for their division. This position is not open to fully remote status at this time.

This contract position has a base pay range of $30 - $50 per hour and is eligible for benefits through the employing agency. Agency benefits may include medical, dental and vision, 401(k), basic/supplemental life and AD&D insurance, short- and long-term disability insurance, health and dependent care spending accounts, transportation benefits, employee assistance program, paid sick leave, and up to 6 paid holidays per year.
