We’re looking for a game artist with strong technical skills to join us to create cutting-edge prosocial games. Mojiworks is a 7x winner of GamesIndustry.biz’s Best Places To Work awards, proud of our progressive culture and diverse team, and pioneers of next-generation social games on a variety of platforms.

This is a generalist role for a junior or mid level of experience, where you’ll use your 2D and 3D content creation skills to make game assets, and use your technical skills to improve our asset pipelines and in-game asset usage with a variety of web technologies & webgl engines, such as PlayCanvas.

You’ll be immersed in a creative, encouraging, and highly collaborative environment where your voice will be heard. You’ll be involved in game design as art creation & tools development. You’ll be managed and mentored within an award-winning culture to encourage sustainable high performance.

We’ll appreciate you for your great collaboration as much as your coding skills. You’ll be responsible for creating game systems and features, and play a key part in deciding what our games should be. You’ll work on the entire lifecycle of projects, from prototyping to live operations.

Your role:

  • Create game art assets, from concept to production quality, across 2D, 3D, UI, and animation, using Adobe Creative Cloud, Blender, and Spine
  • Improve our asset pipelines using languages such as Typescript, using VS Code as a development environment
  • Integrate assets in-game, using webgl engines including PlayCanvas, including work on shaders & lighting
  • Collaborate within a cross-discipline team to design & build the best game possible

We’re looking for:

  • Portfolio showcasing great 2D, 3D, UI, art and animation skills
  • Demonstrable experience of scripting/programming art tools, pipelines, shaders, or lighting
  • A strong desire to learn, and excitement to get your hands on new technologies and solve interesting problems
  • A love of collaborating, with the empathy and confidence required to give and take constructive feedback

Annual salary: £31k-£45k

About Us

Mojiworks is a leader in games for Discord, a pioneer of next generation social games with 140M players and counting, and a 7x winner of GamesIndustry.biz’s Best Places To Work awards.

Since 2016 we’ve led the way in using modern social apps as places for a new type of game. Played in the online places where friends already hang out, our games are designed to strengthen friendships and start new ones through the joy of playing together.

Mojiworks is an online & remote company, with an administrative HQ in Guildford, UK - a renowned game industry hub. We’re distributed across locations, and highly collaborative using Slack text & video. We pride ourselves on our strong personal connections & community (which we put a lot of effort in to).

We believe that being online, rather than physically centralised, makes us the best team: we can have diverse talent from all over the world; better support individual working needs; and lift everyone up to have the same opportunity for impact & collaboration.

We work flexibly, but coordinate around Europe/Middle-East/Africa timezones.
