ABOUT US:

Maze Theory and our sister company Emergent Games are pushing the boundaries of interactive and immersive character-based story telling. We are entering a phase of significant growth with expansion of our exciting products across a range of platforms including console, VR/AR and mobile and Web 3.0 gaming.

ABOUT YOU:

As a data analyst, you will report into the COO and will play a key role in supporting our ongoing data transformation. Your insight will shape strategy in all areas of the business; delivering vital data and insights that support senior management strategic decisions, development team product roadmaps and publishing team marketing strategies.

For the right person this is an opportunity to build out a data function from the ground up and therefore we’re looking for a someone who is comfortable both performing analysis and reporting, but also strategic and capable of helping to build out our data tech stack and infrastructure

EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong balance of business thinking alongside analytical and technical skills Expert skills with Excel, SQL and other statistical/analytical tools
  • Comfortable building out bespoke visuals/tools using open source technology or BI tools, e.g. Tableau, Power Bi, Google Data Studio
  • Knowledge of setting up and running ETL processes
  • Experience automating workflows - Python would be a bonus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, involving data mining and predictive modelling
  • Eye for detail and focused on data accuracy
  • Comfortable explaining sophisticated ideas clearly and simply
  • Excellent attention to detail, natural curiosity, and ability to problem-solve creatively
  • Good influencing skills with partners across teams
  • Proven track record in similar roles, preferably within gaming and preferably experience across mobile, console and PC platforms
  • An interest in the games market

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ideate, propose and assist in delivery of research projects to improve our general data capability.
  • Develop dashboards and reports to track and analyse business a number of key non-game data requirements including
    • business KPI performance
    • sales forecasting and trend analysis
    • marketing channel analysis and attribution modelling
  • Develop, improve and optimise the data structures required to track product performances and player behaviour across multiple channels and titles
  • Identify, measure and report key metrics around in-game engagement, progression, and user behaviour
  • Perform a wide range of analysis to improve meaningful insights that improve performance marketing, monetisation, sales distribution, sales performance, retention, and engagement across our games
  • Work with the game product and development teams to give advice on implementation of user acquisition, monetisation and retention recommendations=
  • Proactively monitor game performance metrics to advise on commercial opportunities
  • Create forecasts for users and revenue on current and new projects to enable cost/benefit analysis prior to development and commercial decisions (pricing, sku planning etc) on live product
  • Research and share a regular (monthly) full industry view of games industry, across new and emergent platforms , features and metrics providing trend analysis and dashboards to aid decision-making
