Interpreting the style and IP of our client’s game, and in the need for co-development to develop and drive an original and innovative art style for the game.
Work with other disciplines to establish technical and aesthetic guidelines for art in the game.
Ensure that all assets created by the art outsourcing and co-dev unit POC’s (points of contact) conform to the style and technical guidelines of the title.
Participate in and run meetings, reviews, and planning as part of effective communication with the team and outsourcing studios.
Inspire, motivate people managers, and mentor other artists in best practices, processes, and procedures pertaining to production.
Work closely with the production team in creating schedules for the art department and outsourcing studios.
Qualifications
Experience managing art teams and pipelines.
Experience creating a broad range of art styles in both 2D and 3D mediums.
Proficient with standard industry tools like Maya, Z-Brush, and Photoshop, Substance, with a high capacity to learn new tools.
Have a strong background and understanding in console interface design, flow and usability.
Have effective analytical, written, oral, team, interpersonal, planning and organizational skills.
Demonstrate knowledge and application of current processes and techniques, including, 3D organic modelling, hard surface technique, shaders, lighting, and composition.
Demonstrated experience with engines such as Unreal and Unity.
Have a passion for the industry and an understanding of market trends and styles.
Portfolio of work demonstrating strong proficiency as a Hard Surface artist.
Passion for playing and creating games.
Self driven with strong communication skills.
Ability to tackle challenges and problem solve with a strong sense of ownership
Ability to work closely with many other disciplines and be a team player
Ability to bring an asset from modeling all the way to Texturing and getting the object in game.
Understand of texture creation
Experience creating hard surface assets
Strong sense of three-dimensional form.
Skilled in creating and understanding PBR materials.
Understanding of Maya/Max, Photoshop, Zbrush, Substance Painter
Advance understanding of current game art pipelines and methodologies.
