Candy Crush Soda Saga is looking for a tech lead for our core gameplay area. Our goal is to provide players with highly engaging content and a core switcher experience that is pleasing and enjoyable to our players.

In the Core Gameplay area you will be part of the area leadership team, representing the technical discipline. You will work in a cross functional team supporting game mechanics, levels and tools contents teams. You will partner with designers, developers, product managers to ensure fast and high quality delivery of our projects. You will need to be proactive in integration of different systems, strong in software architecture and driving our technologies with a high level of strategic knowledge. Your skills to articulate your ideas to others and rally people around them will be important to your success in this role.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Drive and formulate our area tech strategy.

  • Represent leadership for tech within the area.

  • Guide architecture in area initiatives and facilitate technical teamworks

  • Advise and guide product and production plans from a technical perspective by identifying technical risks and opportunities.

  • Understand critical King systems and how they can be used in the area

  • Facilitate collaborations with other areas and King units

  • Drive technical projects or investigations to help the area

  • Understand, communicate and contribute to the tech architecture from the area perspective

  • Promote production of high- quality, scalable and maintainable software

  • Keep up- to date with, and promote, development best- practices

  • Help make the product area and Soda an attractive place to work for developers

  • Be an active contributor to the codebase and take accountability for the technical quality of the features the area is responsible for

You have ​a ​​strong​ ​passion​ ​for gameplay features and tools that ultimately serve millions of users every day! ​​​You are a skilled communicator and ​happy​ ​to ​​work​ with ​people ​from various business units and crafts. You ​can​ ​translate​ product ad business​ needs​ into ​technical​ requirements.​

Other skills ​include:

  • In depth knowledge of modern C++ language

  • Strong interpersonal skills - you can adapt your message based on audience and are confident in both written and verbal communication

  • An understanding of scale, architecture and long- term maintenance aspects

  • Pragmatism when faced with short- term vs long- term challenges

  • Capable of moving between different parts of the King tech stack including the engine, client, web and backend
