Join the Plataforma Team! We are responsible for developing and maintaining the Backend Platform for all games at King. In our team, we focus on performance and scalability–our platform supports an average traffic of millions of requests per second from all our beloved games. We work closely with King’s teams to support game feature development, handle intense traffic events and highly concurrent data storage.

In our daily work, we promote creativity and innovation by adopting the latest technologies and constantly improving and evolving our platform. We are on a mission to transform and migrate our on-premise infrastructure to Google Cloud Platform in order to leverage the benefits and best practices of the cloud. We intend to make this transition invisible to the players and smooth for all King development teams, enabling the game studios to keep serving new game content seamlessly.

Skills to create thrills

  • You are eager to help establish internal best practices related to public cloud usage and enablement, with a particular focus on defining everything as code.

  • You possess a strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and Helm.

  • Your hands-on experience extends to cloud technologies, specifically GCP and its services.

  • You have experience in establishing, maintaining, and enhancing logging and metrics using tools such as Grafana and Prometheus.

  • Comfortable working with Kubernetes (GKE), you are at ease with its intricacies.

  • Your strong proficiency in Java, complemented with skills in Python, Go, Git, sets you up as a proficient troubleshooter and coder. You also demonstrate expertise in facilitating code reviews.

  • You exhibit the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Your role within the Kingdom

  • Maintaining and enhancing our database infrastructure, with a keen focus on scalability, robustness, and security.

  • Troubleshooting distributed systems and efficiently resolving production incidents.

  • Work closely with the game teams and supporting them to make our games more fun

  • Support the full lifecycle of our games, including troubleshooting intricate production problems at high load.

Our Team First, Hybrid Working model empowers teams across the Kingdom to decide how they want to work together, with a mix of in-office and home working. This allows Kingsters to connect, collaborate, celebrate and work effectively in their teams.

Our amazing offices remain open and available for all Kingsters, and our teams decide how often, and when, they come to the office. For some teams, there will be no minimum days in the office but there will be occasions that require attendance. For others, there will be set days or minimum days of attendance. Each team is empowered to determine what level of in-office working is required and expectations for in-office working will be communicated by managers.
