We are looking for an experienced Associate Director of Engineering for the Candy Crush Saga team IAP & Economy.

IAP & Economy business unit is now hiring an Engineering Manager to lead the engineering teams in the product group Expand.

The IAP & Economy business unit will play a crucial role for Candy to be able to reach our ambitious goals of more than doubling the game in the coming years. The product group Expand is working with Candy’s economy and motivational systems to offer more meaningful products and cater to more needs. By crafting an economy for everyone it allows us to build an experience that matters for every player.

You will be responsible for the overall success of the engineering teams working in close collaboration with the Producer, Tech Lead and other partners.

Your role within the Kingdom

As an Associate Director of Engineering within Candy Crush Saga, you will lead both Engineering Managers and Engineers within the IAP & Economy product area.

You will closely with the Director of Engineering to develop and lead the entire engineering organization in IAP & Economy.

Together with the Area Engineering Leadership team and your tech leads, you will translate business objectives into a strategy for the engineering team that enables the product team to achieve its vision, and conversely bring an engineering perspective into the product strategy. You will evolve the engineering organization to efficiently enable the tech and product strategy and to retain and attract top engineering talent. You will drive and execute talent initiatives and process improvements contributing to the overall engineering organization in Candy Crush and King.

This role reports to the IAP & E Director of Engineering in Candy Crush.

You will:

  • As a member of the IAP&E Engineering Leadership team, represent the Engineering perspective and ensure alignment with product group goals

  • Shape the Engineering set-up for your Area together with the Engineering and Tech Leadership Team

  • Help translate business needs into the Engineering and Tech strategy for the IAP & E Area in collaboration with Assoc. Tech Director and Tech leads

  • Recruit, retain, coach, and develop managers and engineers to achieve excellence

  • Improve people and tech processes and ways of working, including cross-functional collaboration

  • Actively participate in the Engineering Management Team across Candy Crush to ensure continuous improvement of the Engineering Organization in Candy Crush

  • Contribute to building a thriving Engineering community

  • Work together with the Area Leadership team, Engineering Management Teams and other leaders in Candy Crush to make King a great, diverse and inclusive workplace

Skills to create thrills

  • Tenured leader and people manager, preferably with experience leading other leaders

  • Previous hands-on experience from engineering, e.g. as a software engineer

  • Experience with creating and executing a Tech strategy

  • Great communication, coaching, and feedback skills

  • Strong stakeholder management skills
