Jagex is expanding and extending its portfolio with fresh franchise titles, new IP and, in 2018 launched Jagex Partners, delivering third-party publishing and operational services exclusively for the living games of the future.

Jagex employs more than 400 people at its Cambridge headquarters and is on the hunt for talented people to work across the business to help the company to achieve yet another year of record growth and player satisfaction.

Key Duties Include:

  • Supporting the development and implementation of the HR strategy in collaboration with the VP of People and building the roadmap in line with the business plan.
  • Ensure that HR plans support the needs of the business but are flexible enough to change with the needs of the business
  • Provide information and reports on data which assist the business
  • Working with the L&D Lead to manage all training needs within the business at both a strategic level, in line with the future growth of the business and training needs analysis and implementation. Manage costs to an overall budget.
  • Manage/review the performance management processes within the business, ensuring all staff have access to and complete appraisals and personal development plans in a meaningful way. Where appropriate redesign and implement this within the business.
  • Manage all sickness issues across the business managing an Occupational Health team where and if appropriate.
  • Deal with any performance of employee relations issues at a senior level from dismissals to large scale redundancies or change management.
  • Ensure all policies and procedures are up to date and legally compliant.
  • Provide day to day advice to line managers on all HR issues in an approachable and collaborative way, quickly establishing strong working relationships both face to face and virtually across the business.
  • Support the VP of People to design and implement the remuneration strategy, establishing and implementing the annual review process and guidance around promotions/market rate reviews.
  • Support the VP of People to design and implement staff benefits strategy and wider benefits program ensuring this is in line with strategy, budget and staff needs.
  • Design and implementation of a business succession plan, cross company and within disciplines. Ability to analyse the results and action plan for them to design a wider retention/career development strategy.
  • Key partner to the Senior Leadership team with the ability to influence and negotiate in a meaningful way.
  • Work as a figurehead and advocate for the Company culture, designing processes/policies and key cultural work where necessary.
  • Ability to act as a constant temperature gage on the business, providing and encouraging transparent feedback to the Senior Leadership.
  • Manage, guide and mentor a strong performing HR team who add value to the wider business working as true business partners.

Essential Requirements:

  • Results-driven HR professional with the experience and passion to understand where the company is and where it needs to develop.
  • The ability to think on your feet, quickly determining the pros and cons of solutions and are comfortable making decisions that help shape the direction of the company.
  • Previous experience of influencing senior managers, built strong commercial relationships and driving an HR strategy.
  • Can quickly establish credibility and respect, demonstrating professionalism, credibility and gravitas.
  • Ability to recognise the value and responsibility of working within a team, actively supports and develops team members, quick to identify and problems solve any issues.
  • Able to work to deadlines and adapt to changing conditions, ability to generate effective and pragmatic solutions to new situations and problems as they are presented.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of personalities and behavioural styles in order to work collaboratively with a variety of people and make informed decisions around resourcing, reporting structures and relationships.
  • The ability to inspire confidence of the Executive Team through timely delivery of information and plans, consulting where appropriate.
  • Strong working knowledge of employment law issues and the ability to apply these to a variety of situations using a pragmatic and common sense approach.
  • Commercial acumen – has a good understanding of company finances/resourcing/headcount and uses this information to push back and support managers in resource and succession planning.
  • Able to problem solve both operational and strategic issues through a pragmatic and commercial sound approach.
