Your Mission

Infinity Ward, developer of numerous award-winning games, is seeking a Lighting Artist, with experience in game development and a passion for creating “best in class” visuals.

Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Work with Art Directors, Level Designers, Environment Artists, Visual Effects Artists, and Team Leads to provide creative lighting solutions for various game modes and cinematics

  • Collaborate with global engineering and development teams to debug issues and find solutions

  • Generate visually stunning creative solutions that are within memory and performance constraints across multiple platforms

  • Ownership of lighting including completion of all production deliverables from initial look development to final polish pass

  • Collaborate closely across multiple teams and disciplines with a unified goal of creating the most visually compelling real-time rendering in the industry

  • Help to maintain standards for PBR and lighting across global teams and studios

  • Support the content and data acquisition process for skies and materials

  • Provide mentorship to other team members in specific areas of expertise

  • Assist in the documentation and communication of technical and process guidelines for all aspects of the lighting pipeline

Player Profile

Minimum Requirements:

  • 2+ years industry experience, with at least 1 title shipped on console or PC.

  • Proven ability to produce compelling visuals through lighting in a real-time engine, showcased in a portfolio demonstrating considerable range of experience with lighting of environments, characters and cinematics

  • Understanding of photography, camera terminology, exposure, and light

  • Proactive, self-motivated, and results-oriented; able to translate visual reference or concept effectively into the game without direct supervision

  • Excellent understanding of color and color theory, space, material and light

  • Competent understanding of game engines, tools, pipelines and development processes

  • Demonstrate high level capacity to solve creative and technical problems

  • Ability to follow design reference and concept art to implement Art Directors vision

  • Experience with post processing and color grading techniques

  • Coding, Scripting, or experience in shader writing is a plus
