We take play seriously. We’re looking for curious adventurers ready to find their party, fueled by imagination and drive to build what’s never been built before. At Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast, you’ll collaborate with passionate teams to reimagine our iconic brands and create experiences that spark joy, connection, and community through the magic of play. This is your chance to shape legendary play that lasts a lifetime.

At Wizards of the Coast, we connect people around the world through play and imagination. From our genre-defining games like Magic: The Gathering® and Dungeons & Dragons® to our growing multiverse, we continue to innovate and build new ways to foster friendship and connection. That’s where you come in!

Magic’s future depends on welcoming new players and helping them build a lasting connection with the game. We are building a dedicated new-player growth team to reach new audiences, make learning more welcoming, and turn first play into long-term participation.

As the Product Architect for Magic New Player Growth, you will set the vision and roadmap for Magic’s acquisition-focused product portfolio. This includes introductory products, custom offerings, solo play experiences, and new expressions of Magic. You will guide products from early concept through launch and ongoing improvement.

We will look to you to connect player needs, creative opportunities, and business goals. You will bring teams together around a shared product vision and help us answer a central question: How do we create new Magic players?

What You’ll Do:

  • Set the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Magic’s portfolio of new-player and acquisition-focused products.
  • Create a connected journey from initial awareness through learning, first purchase, repeat play, community participation, and long-term engagement.
  • Develop product concepts that expand Magic’s appeal, including among audiences historically underrepresented in tabletop gaming.
  • Explore new play patterns, product forms, price points, partnerships, and channels. Lead introductory products, custom acquisition offerings, solo experiences, and other innovations.
  • Define product requirements, key selling points, learning goals, and measures of success. Communicate the vision clearly to teams and partners.
  • Lead collaboration across Product Strategy, Game Design, Creative, Digital, Play, Commercial, Retail, Marketing, and Consumer Insights.
  • Use playtests, player research, market trends, gameplay data, and product performance to guide decisions. Develop, test, and scale promising ideas.
  • Connect physical products with digital learning, Magic: The Gathering Arena, organized play, retail, and community experiences.
  • Balance accessibility and excitement with authentic Magic gameplay, customer value, profitability, licensing needs, and operational requirements.

What You’ll Bring:

  • 5 or more years of experience in product design, game design, consumer product innovation, or retail within hobby gaming or a related field.
  • Experience developing products or experiences focused on customer acquisition, onboarding, learning, or audience growth.
  • Knowledge of Magic: The Gathering and the trading card game category, including tabletop and digital play.
  • Understanding of how players discover, learn, purchase, and build communities around games.
  • Experience leading cross-functional work and gaining support from partners across different disciplines.
  • Ability to turn player research, market information, and product data into clear decisions and product recommendations.
  • Clear communication and presentation skills, including experience aligning teams around a shared vision.
  • Experience with intellectual property, licensing, or external partnerships.
  • Comfort working through ambiguity, testing new ideas, and changing direction when evidence supports a better approach.
  • Empathy for new players and an understanding of the barriers that can affect learning, participation, and belonging.

You will have opportunities to grow your product leadership skills while shaping how new audiences experience Magic. If your background does not align with every qualification listed, we still encourage you to apply.
