WHAT WE ARE LOOK FOR

Gearbox is looking for a Lead Game Designer - World to join a team working on a new AAA IP!

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • In collaboration with the Gameplay Director and the Level Design Director, the Lead Game Designer is responsible for the design of the game mechanics of a new AAA IP
  • Innovate by respecting our competition and the targeted audience for the project
  • Clearly communicate the mechanics’ expectations of the game to the team.
  • Collaborate with the Production team to define deliverables and their schedule
  • Guide and look after the designers’ team to respect the deadlines and make sure the game goes in the right direction.
  • Ensure a tight and fluid communication between the game designers, the level designers and the technical designers
  • Work and collaborate with other departments to insure the feasibility and the quality of the game mechanics
  • Gather gameplay feedback from teammates by organizing test groups
  • Stay up to date on the new trends and new innovations in the industry

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 10 years of experience as a Designer in the video game industry
  • At least 3 years of experience in a leadership role in the video game industry
  • To have delivered at least three multiplatform titles
  • Proficiency of gaming engines
  • Unreal Engine experience
  • Management experience
  • Strong skills in complex problem solving
  • Excellent leadership spirit and interpersonal skills
  • Enthusiastic, positive and team orientated
  • Experience as a mission or level designer would be considered a plus
