Join our team as we embark on a new gaming adventure! We are looking for a Senior Technical Game Designer to help shape a new open-world survival crafting IP. Set in a mysterious and hostile world, the game centers on exploration, systemic gameplay, and player-driven progression, all built around the pillars of cooperative survival.

As a Senior Technical Game Designer, you will support the team in the development and implementation of game systems. You will contribute to the creation of tools, the prototyping of mechanics, and the troubleshooting of content in collaboration with programmers.

You will handle a wide variety of tasks simultaneously and always complete them with precision. As a key liaison for the team, you will serve as a bridge between the various disciplines in video game development.

Thanks to your mastery of development tools, you will actively contribute to bringing the game's vision to life while providing support to team members. This role is for a curious and motivated individual who is eager to learn and wants to work in a dynamic and agile environment.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Act as technical expert for all design issues by resolving problems and offering your support and guidance to team members.
  • Act as the first contact person for all technical issues related to game design and be able to determine if an element can be handled in the script or in the code by the Programming team.
  • Continuously evaluate game designs, characteristics, and pipelines, and identify risks and find systemic improvements.
  • Communicate with various technical departments to improve tools and systems with the aim of making the Design team more efficient.
  • Update the resource databases of game systems.
  • Help improve best practices and training material for the Design teams.
  • Collaborate with programmers to decide how to implement features and define the elements that should be data-driven and those that should not.
  • Contribute to work planning based on the scope of each task to establish a compromise between quality objectives and delivery restrictions (time, cost, resources, etc.).
  • Identify needs in terms of improvements to tools and methods, work with programmers to implement them, and ensure their smooth deployment with the Production team.
  • Define the technical needs of the team; understand and communicate in concrete terms the needs of the team, which are often abstract and loosely defined.

About you:

  • At least 7 years' experience
  • Expertise in various scripting languages, such as C#, Lua, or Visual Scripting
  • Strong knowledge of game engines (e.g.: Unity, Unreal, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience with navigation meshes
