Gameloft Montreal is looking for an Lead 3D Artist to join the team working on Disney Dreamlight Valley, a cross-platform hybrid life-sim/adventure game available on multiple platforms!

Filled with quests, exploration, and engaging activities featuring iconic Disney and Pixar characters, Disney Dreamlight Valley is an original Gameloft Montreal production created by a passionate team eager to welcome you!

From the beginning of your adventure with us, you will be tasked with:

  • Partner with the Art Direction team to define the visual goals for props and environment assets in Disney Dreamlight Valley
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of 3D Artists in the creation of a wide variety of stylized assets
  • Oversee the quality of all 3D prop and environment content throughout production, ensuring it meets both artistic and technical standards
  • Collaborate with the Production team to define schedules and manage team deliverables, maintaining both quality and efficiency
  • Work closely with external studios and outsourcing partners to ensure smooth delivery of assets that match the style of Disney Dreamlight Valley
  • Provide clear, constructive feedback to in-house and external teams
  • Contribute directly to production by creating high-quality props, UV layouts, textures, and other 3D content as needed
  • Utilize high-poly sculpting workflows baked to low-poly models to achieve a polished, stylized look while maintaining in-game performance
  • Collaborate with technical artists and engineers to optimize workflows and ensure assets perform well in-engine
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, creativity, and innovation within the 3D art team
  • Support pipeline improvements and documentation to streamline production.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in 3D asset creation with a strong portfolio of stylized work
  • 5+ years of professional experience as a 3D Artist in the games industry
  • 2+ years of leadership experience as a Lead or Senior Artist, ideally in shipped titles
  • Expert knowledge of 3D modeling tools such as Maya, 3ds Max, Blender or Zbrush/sculpting tools
  • Proficiency with texturing tools such as Substance Painter/Designer
  • Strong understanding of art fundamentals: form, color, composition, and stylization
  • Proven ability to deliver feedback and guide artists to grow their skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills; ability to collaborate across disciplines
  • Attention to detail and a passion for stylized, characterful worlds
