We are continuing to grow our team to support our existing portfolio and an exciting and ambitious future roadmap, which includes the development of both own-IP titles and licensed-IP titles. Our IP-license partners include Universal (Jurassic World), Formula 1 and Games Workshop (Warhammer).

We are also growing our team to continue the growth of Frontier Foundry, our games label for publishing games developed by carefully selected partner studios.

We are looking for an experienced multi-platform programmer to join the team of talented programmers working on our upcoming Warhammer: Age of Sigmar (AoS) RTS title.

AoS is being developed using our versatile in-house Cobra engine which provides core functionality for all modern console platforms.

Frontier has a history of bringing complex and demanding games to consoles. As our Platform Compliance programmer you will have the chance to work on many different aspects of the game. A key part of the role will be to ensure AoS meets the platform holder’s requirements but, as part of the coding team, there will also be opportunities to write game code and implement new features.

Multiplayer is one of the core pillars of AoS so expertise with multiple user accounts, online play and the related platform holder specifications will be an important part of the role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with the various platform requirements (TRCs/XRs) across all areas of the game.
  • Making sure that key stakeholders (Production, Lead Programmer, QA, etc.) are aware of any issues.
  • Report directly to and collaborate with the AoS Lead Programmer to identify new tasks.
  • Implementing gameplay features that have certification ramifications, e.g. save/load systems.
  • Collaborating with our Shared Technology Group (STG) to request changes to the engine where necessary to support new platforms.

  • Proactive about solving issues independently
  • Passionate about sharing knowledge and communicating issues effectively to other members of the team
  • Able to give and receive constructive feedback
  • Keeps up-to-date with new game technologies

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

Essential:

  • Experience shipping multiple titles on Xbox and PlayStation consoles
  • Good programming skills using C++ in a large codebase
  • Ability to quickly grasp new code and understand the intent of the original author

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of PS5 and XBSX|S certification requirements
  • Understanding of Cross-Platform requirements
  • Familiarity with LUA programming
