The opportunity for a creative and innovative freelance graphic designer to join a well-established organisation, working for an exciting up and coming brand as part of the in-house creative team.

GRAPHIC DESIGNER

A 2-month contract role in the in-house creative team, responsible for assisting in creating the branding requirements for a variety of media ahead of the Esports Awards 2019.

LOCATION: Manchester, Trafford Park Village

CONTRACT TYPE: Contract

LENGTH: 2 months

REPORT TO: Marketing Manager

INTERNAL LIAISON: All Internal Departments

Purpose of the Role:

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the role focuses on designing and implementing creative branding assets for the Esports Awards 2019, ahead of the ceremony in November. The Esports Awards is a successful and established endemic esports platform, managed and ran by an expert team focused on recognising excellence, creating legacy and honouring the industry year on year.

Esports as an industry is booming and the Esports Awards team are proud to be a part of this, supporting growth across the board.

General Responsibilities

The role requires an experienced designer with attention to detail, who will ultimately be accountable for:

  • Conceptualizing visuals based on requirements.
  • Preparing rough drafts and presenting ideas.
  • Developing illustrations, logos and other designs using software.
  • Using the appropriate colours and layouts for each graphic.
  • Working with content manager to produce final design.
  • Testing graphics across various media.
  • Amending designs after feedback.
  • Ensuring final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand as per brand guidelines.

Key Role and Responsibilities

Esports Awards

You will be directly accountable for the creation of branding assets in the two months prior to the 2019 ceremony, working with the Content Manager and team to devise assets to drive brand awareness, engagement and exposure for the Esports Awards, while keeping consistent with the brand guidelines.

Requirements

General

  • Proven graphic design experience.
  • A strong portfolio of illustrations or other graphics.
  • Familiarity with design software and technologies (such as InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Photoshop).
  • A keen eye for aesthetics and details.
  • Ability to work methodically, meet deadlines and be briefed by internal stakeholders.
  • Degree in Design, Fine Arts or related field is a plus.
  • Culture plays a massive part within the Esports Awards; the right person and the right fit is as important as the day to day operations.
