What You’ll Do

We’re looking for a QA Manager to own our publishing QA process. The person in this role will own the testing strategy, test plans, vendor management, and partner relationships between multiple studios of developers and QA testing groups with the goal of overseeing the testing process of any future games Epic intends to publish. They will develop and monitor metrics per development team, create quality strategies per product, and dig into complex features to provide hands-on test planning support. This position requires being a leader in QA, as a manager, craft expert, and IC who isn’t afraid to dig into the details of problems and finding innovative solutions at scale. In this role, you will

  • Work with external partners in or to plan out product level testing strategies for multiple titles in later stages of development
  • Work with external testing groups to build up testing teams and monitor their execution of test coverage
  • Build positive working relationships with leadership across multiple studios
  • Develop pass/fail criteria for different stages of development and provide highly detailed reporting and feedback on testing progress on a regular basis
  • Work collaboratively with partners to develop detailed test plans for complex features and train external teams on how to test features effectively.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of Quality Assurance experience
  • Minimum of 3 years experience working with QA vendors
  • Capability to lead a QA team both as a people manager and tactical driver of success
  • Formal QA certification, such as ISTQB or equivalent experience
  • Experience in games development
  • Experience building and leading large teams of testers and creating test plans for large scale projects.
  • A deep understanding of defect reporting, version control, and configuration management best practices, along with different testing phase best practices and objectives (functional, system integration, UAT, performance)
  • Experience working with Unreal Engine 4 or other Game Engines
