What You'll Do

Epic Games is looking for a Lighting Artist to join our Cinematics team. In this role you will work closely with the CG Supervisor and CG artists from various disciplines to create content for our cinematic trailers and other in-engine projects. If you are passionate about working with real time technology and producing feature quality animated content in Unreal, this role could be for you!

In this role, you will

  • Work with Art Directors, CG Supervisor and Discipline Leads to establish and maintain Epic Games’ lighting aesthetic and technical standards

  • Develop character and environment lighting for cinematics

  • Work with Technical Artists to develop tools and assets for lighting

  • Create and document methods, pipelines and lighting processes

  • Communicate effectively with other departments to look into the causes of any technical or artistic issues that might arise

  • Debug and optimize lighting scenarios as required

  • Make any changes requested in an iterative intensive pipeline

What we're looking for

  • Strong lighting portfolio

  • Unreal engine experience

  • Technical art skills that include material and shading experience.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to work on own initiative
