Role overview
The Purpose of the role is to:
Lead the delivery and understanding of Europe consolidated reporting
Lead the monthly/quarterly closing requirements in relation to activities impacting the two International headquarters companies, including FX management, Inventory, IT/Equipment costs
Lead the contracts review process and provide solutions to technical accounting situations
You will be hybrid, based in the Lyon office, and report to the Director of European Controllership based in Geneva, Switzerland.
What You'll Do:
EU close, consolidation and reporting
Prepare in collaboration with the Global Commercial FP&A team the monthly Profit & Loss statements reporting analysis
Review Country packs and the European consolidated Balance Sheet Reporting
Present them to the Corporate leadership during monthly close meetings
Technical accounting
Review or prepare accounting assessment,
Implement processes to accommodate accounting standard updates,
Review cross-jurisdictional, intercompany, capital transactions, including dividends, liquidations, M&A…
When necessary, for complex accounting partners, partner with the Technical Accounting team based in North America,
Be the primary point of contact for Europe for the review of draft of new or revised accounting policies,
Accounting in relation to Games inventory, IT infrastructure and equipment costs, hedge and foreign exchange
Review and approve the journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
Partner with FP&A and Business teams to ensure accurate and complete period costs and manage effectively the hedge forecast
Project management and Subject Matters Expert
Participate in projects related to process alignment, modernization and simplification of the close and systems
People management
Manage, lead and mentor a team, supporting their career development and continuous learning
Required qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
Qualified ACA/ACCA or equivalent preferable
Minimum of 6+ years of relevant financial accounting experience
Demonstrated proficiency in Reporting and US GAAP accounting knowledge
People management experience, including hiring, training (mentoring a plus)
Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft suite including Power BI
Experience with Oracle R12 and Hyperion Financial Management or other similar systems
Fluency in English with excellent written and oral communication skills
Passionate, enthusiastic team player
