About the role: Reporting to the Senior Art Director, the Environment art Director will help define the artistic style and overall look of the game's environments. You will collaborate with the creative team, including artists, designers, and developers, to ensure that our game world is visually stunning, cohesive, and consistent with the game's vision. You are down to earth and eager to work in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Art Director to establish a cohesive visual language and build a new sandbox open world environment.
Understand the style and quality bar for the engaging project and be accountable for the quality and efficiency of the environment art delivery.
Partnered with your designer peers to build an exciting and gameplay-dense world.
Support the Art Director in the style guide and feedback processes.
Established technical guidelines with your technical partner and make sure that your team will deliver optimal content.
You will provide creative brief and give clear direction to your several collaborators (internal and external).
Partnered with management and ensure that the deliverables deadlines are respected.
Ensure that your collaborator are in touch with the latest trends, methodology and technology.
Work as a craft leader to strengthen the local art team's capabilities and expertise. Plan, organize, and introduce training that fits the team.
Work as a people manager to support career growth and provide mentorship for the team members. Provide performance assessments for the environment artists.
Required Skills/Personal Requirements:
10+ years of open world creation experience.
10+years of team leader and people manager experience.
Familiar with AAA environment art production and understands the common expectations and limitations of the mainstream production pipeline. Understand PBR processes, shaders, physics, and optimization, and has adequate game engine experience.
Have good environment skills and can create believable environment content for multiple subject matters (e.g., buildings, props, hard surfaces, organic, vegetation, level composition).
A portfolio that illustrates your range of creativity
