Development Manager - Quality Verification

About the Role: Reporting to the Development Director, you will oversee QA project planning and execution with your studio partners. Collaborating with development teams and QA peers, you will coordinate project schedules, strategize tests, and manage project metrics. You will be an essential part of the knowledge transfer process and communication with the game team and partner groups. In partnership with QA leaders, you will work towards enhancing QA practices, sharing expertise, and advocating for game design and implementation.
πYour Responsibilities
Project Management
Oversee project schedules and ensure timely delivery of milestones
Balance scope, timelines and overall project quality
Identify and mitigate risks, manage blockers, prioritize tasks, and ensure project goals are met
Ensure effective reporting to leadership and stakeholders
Team Leadership and Collaboration
Collaborate with multiple teams and stakeholders, including developers, analysts, and producers
Conduct regular meetings, such as stand-ups and planning sessions, to align team efforts
Communicate project expectations and progress updates effectively
Encourage partner engagement
Process Efficiency
Develop and implement QA strategies, plans, and processes
Ensure high-quality reporting and documentation of QA processes and findings
Propose creative solutions to issues regarding process, strategy, and communication
Resource Management
Determine and manage resource requirements for the project
Handle capacity planning, scheduling, and tracking of tasks
People/Talent Management
Manage, mentor and support QA team members
Conduct performance reviews, career development and training
Foster a collaborative and productive team environment
β Our Requirements
Experience and Knowledge / Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience
4+ years of experience in project management or team leadership roles in QA or software development
2+ years of people management experience
Skills and Abilities
Experience with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Kanban) and bug tracking tools
Understanding of software development processes
Stakeholder management and communication skills
Experience with white-box/gray-box testing techniques
