As a QA Discipline Manager joining Marathon, you will deeply invest in supporting and nurturing career growth and development through people management. You will support multiple reports across varying levels of QA expertise that are spread through different teams on the project. You will be responsible for fostering their growth through coaching, mentorship, feedback, and performance accountability.

In this role, you will also collaborate with other QA Discipline Managers to establish healthy management frameworks and best practices that meet business needs and support QA team members across all of Bungie’s products. You will partner with QA Craft Leadership to provide training and learning avenues to your reports and the org. You will identify and resolve organizational health risks with senior QA leadership while focusing on developing and maintaining a healthy QA team.

In this role, you will also work with Discipline Managers outside QA to share learnings to improve and iterate on strategies that help us better achieve our people development strategies. You will work with these same leaders to tackle project wide initiatives that support our team members throughout development.

RESPONSIBILITIES

LEADERSHIP & STRATEGY

  • Align and collaborate with project QA Discipline Manager Lead and Test Director to build, implement, and measure initiatives that satisfy BU (Business Unit) discipline goals.

  • Partner with QA craft leadership to promote healthy craft best practices and framework utilization through the discipline.

  • Contribute to QA interviews and hiring processes with the goal of increasing diversity and widening project skillsets.

  • Collaborate with cross BU (Business Unit) QA managers to support QA wide discipline goals as presented by the Sr. QA Discipline Manager and Head of QA.

  • Collaborate with project Discipline Managers outside of QA to solve project discipline needs.

  • Drive new hire onboarding and upkeep of onboarding framework and methods.

MANAGEMENT

  • Actively manage and mentor direct and skip-level reports of varying levels spanning multiple teams.

  • Implement and utilize regular communication pipelines with your report’s Lead to understand and gather feedback on performance.

  • Support people development through regular 1:1 syncs, Job Profile alignment, goal setting and career growth planning rituals with direct reports

  • Provide performance management through established coaching, mentorship, and training frameworks.

  • Utilize QA Craft leadership as mentorship and coaching experts for report’s growth opportunities.

  • Understand and track organizational health risks and actively engage in building strategies to resolve them.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Strong desire to grow yourself and your teams while constantly evolving your approach and processes.

  • Proven ability to effectively manage and mentor reports across varying experience levels targeting career growth.

  • Experience driving performance management and job profile accountability.

  • Experience engaging with complex people scenarios involving performance, morale, diversity, and inclusion.

  • Experience directly managing 10+ senior, mid-level and/or early in career QA reports through a management chain.

  • Exemplary communication skills, outstanding collaboration skills and passion for coaching, mentorship and helping others reach their potential.

NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS

  • Experience interviewing full-time QA engineers and leads.

Listed below is this role's base pay range. In other locations that Bungie has approved for remote work, this pay range may be adjusted up to +/- 10% and some roles may be classified as non-exempt (hourly). This range is determined by an array of factors, including training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands. Bellevue Pay Range

$110,000—$136,000 USD

Bungie full-time (non-contract) employees in the U.S. also receive:

  • 20 days of accrued time-off in the form of PTO and sabbatical days, depending on the level of the position

  • 10 paid Floating Days annually, prorated in the first year of employment based on start date

  • 10 paid Bungie-observed holidays annually

  • One hour of Paid Sick Time (PST) for every 30 hours worked

Contract and International FTE employees receive competitive benefits through their relevant contracting agency.
