Bungie is in search of a unique individual who can blend the leadership and cooperative attributes of a Product Owner with the specialized skills of a Technical Artist to lead a team dedicated to enhancing artists' capabilities. In this role, you will guide the delivery of incremental, systemic, and innovative rendering and workflow updates, empowering artists across all development groups. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in game art and technology, demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills and possess the vision and leadership qualities of a small team lead. RESPONSIBILITIES
Hold the vision for a small team dedicated to improving content development tools and render features, ensuring alignment with the overall project vision
Gain a deep understanding of the tools and systems supported by the team
Transform artist requests into technical design specifications for tools and graphics features
In collaboration with the team, write and prioritize user stories, defining acceptance criteria for each story
Participate actively in iteration planning and review, story time, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives
Provide Technical Art support in the development of new artist facing tools and graphics features
Deploy new features to the art team by showcasing examples, giving presentations, and producing relevant documentation
Maintain open lines of communication with all relevant stakeholders, ensuring alignment and addressing potential conflicts proactively
REQUIRED SKILLS
Ability to independently translate art team goals into creative software solutions with a thorough understanding of cost, efficiency, and quality tradeoffs
Strong understanding of the game development process, with the ability to make effective trade-offs to deliver the highest value to the customer
Experience in producing clear, concise, and accurate technical documentation, with the ability to simplify complex topics
Strong communication skills to effectively guide customers of varying technical and non-technical backgrounds in navigating our technology
Ability to balance technology solutions with an aesthetic eye to deliver on the visual pillars of the product
Proficiency in game art processes, efficient techniques, and standard tools including Maya, 3ds Max, Substance Painter, and Photoshop
Professional experience in develop using Python, HLSL, or C#
Experience in managing and resolving stability, performance, and memory issues across different platforms
Listed below is this role's base pay range. In other locations that Bungie has approved for remote work, this pay range may be adjusted up to +/- 10% and some roles may be classified as non-exempt (hourly). This range is determined by an array of factors, including training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands. Bellevue Pay Range
$154,000—$187,000 USD
Bungie full-time (non-contract) employees in the U.S. also receive:
20 days of accrued time-off in the form of PTO and sabbatical days, depending on the level of the position
10 paid Floating Days annually, prorated in the first year of employment based on start date
10 paid Bungie-observed holidays annually
One hour of Paid Sick Time (PST) for every 30 hours worked
Contract and International FTE employees receive competitive benefits through their relevant contracting agency.
