About the job
Creating epic Blizzard gaming experiences like raiding the Black Temple and exploring the depths of Sanctuary come after talented teams spend thousands of hours perfecting the final products. We’re looking for a technically proficient and knowledgeable Test Manager to lead QA operations and test for a new, unannounced game for Blizzard. The ideal candidate must have proven leadership abilities and be focused on software quality and process efficacy, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
Establish and deliver on the quality strategy for a product across globally-distributed teams.
Manage, recruit, and lead a large team towards individual and team excellence.
Set standards for cross-functional teams on end-to-end strategy, test execution, and reporting.
Accountable for the quality of all deliverables, workflows, and relationships for the test team.
Forecast and manage the game’s test schedules, needs, dependencies, and resources.
Partner with software development engineers in test (SDETs) to find automation strategies that help in manual testing.
Set and achieve annual quality goals for the team.
Implement a strategic vision towards improving quality assurance approaches.
Resolve project impacting issues that require intervention.
Analyze data from various sources to regularly report on and influence the quality strategy.
Champion and influence software development best practices and the customer experience.
Present formal business reviews regularly.
Requirements
Quality assurance experience: 8 years.
Management experience: 3 years.
Certification in any of the following: PMP, Scrum Master, or ISTQB-ATM.
Experience leading regional quality assurance teams.
Ability to forecast and manage team budget for a large project.
Experience partnering with lead software engineers on the test strategy.
Demonstrated experience in end-to-end test planning for a product.
Expertise in enterprise level software development lifecycle and test case management tools.
Shipped multiple software products while in a leadership role.
Pluses
Mobile OS knowledge.
Experience with tools such as Unity Test Framework and device farms.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience.
Coding knowledge: XML/HTML, JavaScript, Python, Java, C/C++/C#, SQL.
Familiarity with Blizzard games and services.
