You'll find yourself working with a talented team of designers, programmers, and artists to help create, implement, and tune various game systems like items, crafting, and class mechanics for Diablo 4.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in game design, a strong aptitude for critical thinking and analysis, outstanding people skills, boundless creativity, extensive knowledge of Diablo games, and a longstanding passion for playing video games.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Designers, Engineers, Artists, Producers, to deliver world-class game systems.

  • Be a proactive self-starter that can independently implement high-level direction.

  • Uphold system designs during a live environment.

  • Use scripting tools to create, iterate, and balance game mechanics and systems.

  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure systems are understood and applied.

  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of the design process spanning all facets of the game.

  • Work closely with our user-testing teams during play-balancing to provide expert feedback.

Requirements

  • 5 years in the games industry working in a system design capacity, with at least 1 shipped title in the AAA console / PC space.

  • Extensive experience developing or playing action RPG titles.

  • Proven experience with programming/scripting languages.

  • Strong game design philosophies and understanding of systems design.

  • Strong problem-solving skills.

  • Expertise writing high and low-level documentation (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Visio, etc.).

  • Strong sense of what makes a fun and compelling experience for game system.

  • Outstanding self-motivation and initiative

  • Passion for video games, especially Blizzard Entertainment titles

Extra Points

  • Design experience on a multiplayer action game

  • User Interface design experience

  • Prior work experience or education in other (non-design) disciplines: art, programming, production, or sound

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $80,800.00 - $149,400.00 Annual. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. Your Talent Professional can share this role’s range details for your local geography during the hiring process. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
