As Senior Communications Manager for Blizzard EMEA, you are the strategic lead for public relations and communications initiatives across the region. Working on some of the largest franchises in gaming, you shape how players, media and creators talk about our games, such as World of Warcraft, Diablo and Overwatch. You drive integrated storytelling, go-to-market plans, crisis response, and cross-functional alignment to ensure measurable impact across diverse markets. You will thrive in an energetic team environment, will be highly organized and able to work independently, while contributing to the goals of the team. 

While your role is specifically focused on Blizzard communications, it sits within the Microsoft Gaming Integrated and International Communications team; the team responsible for championing player-first storytelling and innovative communications that serve passionate players across globally. You’ll work closely with your regional peers across the business, sharing best practices, insights, and approaches that strengthen communications across markets and across our broad set of games. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and execution of regional communications strategies aligned with global brand and commercial goals
  • Establish integrated communication strategies for each game release across gaming specialist, lifestyle and broadcast mainstream media, creators & influencers, and consumer-focused campaigns
  • Close partnership with global HQ and regional function leads and teams to ensure communications plans are well integrated with overall go to market strategy
  • Guide communications priorities across product launches and sustained press office activity, in line with regional commercial goals
  • Develop and drive creative storytelling angles around into media-ready pitches and influencer briefs
  • Support Territory Communications team to deliver local market success through local communications
  • Manage regional press tours, campaigns & events, including global events like Blizzcon
  • Oversee regional strategy for major product reveals and experiential activations
  • Support crisis & issues management & monitoring, aligning messaging with global teams during sensitive periods
  • Coordinate with Microsoft and Xbox teams on joint communications
  • Reporting & Insights - Use measurement tools to evaluate campaign success and deliver reports to internal stakeholders
  • Assist with financial planning, budget tracking and demonstrating return on investment
  • Engage with key media, partners, and creators, where needed to support communications delivery
  • Day to day contact and liaison with Blizzard’s incumbent agency network

Key Skills & Experience

This role is a Senior Manager level position where you'll thrive with a can-do attitude, not afraid to get proactively involved in a working environment that will empower you to think creatively, all whilst sharing in some great company benefits and initiatives. In addition, you will have:

  • A Degree level Education (preferred) relevant to the experience required for the role
  • At least 8 years Communications Management with Press and Creators, ideally for an Entertainment brand
  • Excellent spoken and written skills in English (other European languages an advantage)
  • Ability to manage multiple high-stakes projects simultaneously under tight deadlines
  • Awareness of business planning and consumer orientation (targeting, segmentation, media trends)
  • Financial savvy (budgeting, ROI-oriented prioritization)
  • Clear self-motivation with a history of exceeding high-performance standards
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
  • A willingness to travel should it be required in role
  • You will demonstrate confidence, initiative, and approachability, consistently fostering team collaboration. Additionally, you possess ambition, determination, and the ability to work independently, when necessary, all while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Expertise in media relations, crisis management, and cross-cultural communications.
  • Strong understanding of the EMEA media landscape and influencer ecosystem.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
