Your Mission

As a Senior PVP System Designer you will be tasked with developing and improving features that motivate player conflict throughout the game. This role is a combination of system design thinking and strong moment-to-moment gameplay prototyping. Knowing when you need to create new content or add depth to existing gameplay features is critical to success in this role.

This role is expected to be a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The potential home studio for this role is Irvine, CA. However, we understand each person’s circumstances may be unique and will work with you to explore other possible options.

What work is part of the role:

  • Analyzing, pitching, prototyping, balancing, and developing systems that motivate healthy PVP.

  • Maintaining and advocating for simplicity in systems.

  • Collaborating and coordinate with multiple disciplines.

  • Remaining current on industry trends including new game genres, new game design methods and techniques.

Minimum Requirements

Experience

  • 5+ years’ experience in game system design or combination of experience and education.

  • Experience in the area of combat design on at least on shipped title.

Extra Points

Experience

  • Prior experience developing an FPS game.

  • Well versed in FPS and Survival Games.

  • Prior work with systems directly related to PVP motivations.

Knowledge & Skills

  • An understanding of systems design, player psychology, and emerging industry trends.

  • Strong technical skills with an understanding of vector math.

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $80,800.00 - $149,400.00 Annual. This base pay range is for the U.S. and is not applicable to locations outside of the U.S. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
