We are seeking a Lead Server Engineer to join our Server Team on Warcraft Arclight Rumble! You will oversee the development of the backend systems and services currently in development now, and support live operations after launch.
The Server Team’s areas of focus for the team include game simulations, distributed systems, network communication, security, integration with Battle.net and mobile platform providers, cloud infrastructure, monitoring, performance and more.

This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The home studio for this role is Irvine, CA.
Responsibilities
Manage the Server Team to meet all established goals, requirements, and standards
Evaluate and mentor engineers on the Server Team
Work with production staff and other leads to establish engineering tasks, requirements, and schedules
Help establish on the Server Team a culture of ownership, customer empathy, and continuous improvement
Collaborate with internal and external teams to build and operate our game
Promote, contribute to, and participate in a culture of inclusion and diversity
Requirements
Experience building, deploying, and maintaining server systems, especially distributed systems and microservices
Strong C# Experience · Strong server architecture experience
Experience with Kafka or similar message broker product
Experience with Cassandra or similar NoSQL database product
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
Pluses
Prior game development experience
Direct engineering experience with any of the following: Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, Docker
Prior leadership experience
Android and iOS Development experience

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $121,500.00 - $224,880.00 Annual. This base pay range is for the U.S. and is not applicable to locations outside of the U.S. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
