Your Mission

As a Lead Live Ops Game Designer, you will shape the long-term content, gameplay, and systemic experiences of our players through mentorship, inspiration, and example. The ideal candidate has a clear understanding of player motivations and how to meet the player’s needs. You will work with directors and lead a multidisciplinary group to build systems, tools, and content that keeps the game fresh and exciting for years to come – and sustainable for the Live Team to use.

This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The home studio for this role are Irvine, CA.

Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Leading a team and thought around meta-progression and Live Operations.

  • Designing structures and systems used for Live Operations – building knobs and levers.

  • Giving clear and practical feedback while engaging and inspiring the team.

  • Building and iterating on meta-progression features along with UX and Systems Design.

  • Analyzing performance of live game features and distilling this information for collaborators.

  • Cultivating the skills of those working with you, constantly finding opportunities to help them improve their craft.

Minimum Requirements

  • 10+ years of systems design, content design, or product focused work/education experience.

  • 1+ years of experience as a people manager.

  • Experience working on Live Service titles with 10+ significant updates deployed.

  • Experience with AAA game engines such as Unreal and Unity.

  • Thorough understanding of data analysis and time tested, player first, outcomes.

  • A love for interacting with your customers (other teams and your players).

  • A passion for building successful teams and mentoring designers.

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $97,200.00 - $179,900.00 Annual. This base pay range is for the U.S. and is not applicable to locations outside of the U.S. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
