You’ll find yourself working with a talented team of designers, programmers, and artists to help envision, craft, and implement player classes for Diablo 4.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience as a lead game designer, a strong aptitude for critical thinking and analysis, outstanding people skills, boundless creativity, extensive knowledge of Diablo games, and a longstanding passion for playing video games.

This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The potential home studio for this role is Albany, NY, Austin, TX, or Irvine, CA.

Minimum Requirements

Experience

  • Extensive experience developing and playing action RPG titles

  • Game development experience with an emphasis on combat design.

  • Prior experience as a lead game designer

  • Prior experience as a people manager

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Exceptional interpersonal and verbal and written communications skills

  • Leadership skills with an emphasis on people management and product ownership

  • Strong editorial skills with the ability to provide qualitative feedback

Key Attributes

  • Able to communicate effectively with programming, design, art, and production

  • Strong sense of what makes a fun and compelling experience for game system

  • Strong game design philosophies / understanding

  • Outstanding self-motivation and initiative

  • Passion for video games, especially Blizzard Entertainment titles

Experience

  • Design experience on a multiplayer action game

  • Prior work experience or education in other (non-design) disciplines: art, programming, production, or sound

Knowledge & Skills

  • A familiarity with scripting languages and a strong foundation in math

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $97,200.00 - $179,900.00 Annual. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. Your Talent Professional can share this role’s range details for your local geography during the hiring process. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
