Blizzard Entertainment is seeking a Data Analyst to partner across departments on Diablo Immortal. In this role, you will empower the game team with actionable data derived from your own analyses, experiments, and data exploration.

This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The potential home studio for this role is Irvine, CA.

RESPONSIBILITY

  • Collaborate closely with game designers, product managers, and developers to provide comprehensive data support across all facets of game events, features, and improvements.

  • Collaborate across departments to uncover business needs and provide data-based support.

  • Maintain and improve current data pipelines to streamline the extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) process.

  • Tailor and deliver decisive data findings and presentations to an array of audiences.

  • Create clear data visualizations, dashboards, and self-service data tools.

  • Assist in the implementation and monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs) to track game performance.

  • Contribute to an inclusive atmosphere, where team members communicate and support each other's efforts, enabling a productive team culture, built upon trust and collaborative problem solving.

  • Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies in gaming analytics.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of work experience in Data Analytics, Data Science, or Product Management roles

  • 1+ years of work experience in the gaming industry

  • Proficient in SQL and familiar with extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) process.

  • Effective communication skills for conveying complex insights to various audiences.

  • Strong analytical mindset and the ability to translate data into actionable recommendations.

  • Familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar.

  • Passionate, self-motivated, and able to operate in a fast-paced

  • entrepreneurial environment and continuously monitor data quality and proactively address issues.

  • Capacity to work independently and collaborate within a diverse team.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Work experience in mobile or free-to-play games

  • Experimentation design, execution, and analysis in a live operations environment

  • Understanding of game design principles and player psychology

  • Knowledge of player segmentation techniques and player lifecycle analysis

  • Familiar with a statistical programming language, such as Python or R

  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, computer science, engineering, or business fields

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $34.28 - $63.42 Hourly. This base pay range is for the U.S. and is not applicable to locations outside of the U.S. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
