What we need:

We’re seeking a Senior VFX Artist to craft diverse and captivating content. You’ll collaborate closely with our design team to enhance combat dynamics and player satisfaction, while also partnering with the environment team to bring our world to life. Additionally, you’ll work alongside engineers to develop tools that elevate our team's capabilities. If you’re passionate about honing your skills and pushing the limits of VFX in gaming, and you thrive on tackling mathematical and logical challenges with unwavering determination, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

  • Drive content creation according to the scope defined by the Lead or Art Director.

  • Develop high-quality, stylized, and hand-drawn textures for VFX assets.

  • Implement dynamic VFX that effectively convey gameplay and captivate players.

  • Identify and implement performance improvements to new and existing visual effect systems.

  • Apply advanced VFX techniques and technical expertise to elevate the team’s capabilities.

  • Work independently with minimal supervision while demonstrating strong self-critique skills, and collaborate with various teams to infuse life into otherwise static worlds.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of experience in visual effects in the video game industry.

  • A portfolio showcasing expertise in developing and applying real-time VFX utilizing Niagara in Unreal.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, combined with a strong knowledge of visual effect terminology and techniques.

  • Good sense of timing and weight with regard to effects.

  • Proficient in 2D and 3D software such as Photoshop, After Effects, Houdini, Maya, with strong familiarity with mathematical and node-based systems.

Relevant Experience:

  • A passion for diversity & representation in games & game development.

  • A self-starter who can align with the team's goals but isn't hesitant to create solutions on their own.

The pay range for this position in California at the start of employment is expected to be between $91,100 and $134,840 per year. However, base pay offered is based on market location and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an 'at-will position' and the company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
