What We Need

2K is looking for an experienced veteran Marketing Consultant on a temporary assignment in Asia for our new mobile RPG titles. The ideal candidate has a numerous launch experience on similar genre games on mobile platform or deep understanding on this genre so can advise and consult existing marketing team to help to build marketing plan and strategy. A passion for mobile games, and a strong understanding on the Japanese Anime/Manga based game fandom and games around such audiences and eco-system and ability to articulate the strategy backed by strong product insight and communicate in concise manner to other stakeholders is necessary traits to be successful in this role.

You are expected to share your knowledge, insight or experience on the games either you have launched or observed and assist the existing marketing team to build and develop the most compelling marketing plans and business strategy to penetrate global market with heavy emphasis for Japan and Asia market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the short-term advisor/consultant for assigned title and engage with marketing team as a key stakeholder and clients

  • Be an expert on our player - who they are, their needs and passions and how they buy to craft the marketing strategy for Anime-themed mobile JRPG

  • Define key performance metrics for assigned title.

  • Ability to explain product and market insights or business strategy to all the relevant stakeholders in concise manner with all sorts of communication including but not limited to in-person meeting, e-mail and zoom call.

  • Be an expert on our competition, how they are positioned and what opportunities we have for differentiation for product and marketing strategy.

  • Provide deliverables in form of documentation(PPT, Google doc, etc.) when necessary, with ability to visualize and conceptualize ideas, thoughts, and insights with various form of methods such as diagram, charts, and graphs.

  • Ability to gather relevant information and intel for the market and competitor titles and apply the learning to the recommendation.

  • Other tasks as required by the marketing team

Who We Think Will Be A Great Fit

  • 10+ years of experience in gaming with experience supporting mobile RPG games or related products and services

  • Experience supporting team in a consultation/expert capacity

  • High degree of understanding the Anime game or JRPG fandom and player profile with regards to mobile RPG market

  • Experience including Integrated Marketing plan development and execution of paid, owned and organic channels for mobile games

  • Enjoys problem solving and thinking creatively and introducing new ideas to solve challenges

  • Understanding of Japanese/Asian user-behavior based on platform and genre or strong interest to learn

  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment, with a test and learn mindset and ability to listen and act quickly

  • Enjoys managing relationships with stakeholders to provide visibility, transparency and alignment on marketing plans and actions.

  • Strong organization and project management skills with the ability to priorities projects to meet deadlines

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

  • Strong analytical skills

Bonus Points

  • Additional communication skills in Japanese are desirable but not a requirement

  • Passion for JRPG genre or mobile games

  • Affinity and knowledge to Japanese subcultures ie: Anime, Manga, Pixiv, Cosplay, NicoNico

  • Strong team player
