Engineering Graduate Program: Shape Your Gaming Future with 2K

Our recruitment process is task-driven, ensuring that you have the opportunity to showcase your skills and talents, regardless of your background.

Recruitment Process

The recruitment process is split into four stages:

  • Application with CV Review

  • Group Scoping Call to Explain the Process & Role in further detail

  • Task Stage

  • Final Interview

Our next generation of Engineers will begin their job in July 2024. We will run recruitment from September to December 2023 for these candidates.

What Makes This Program So Great?

Prepare to embark on an exciting journey, with our Engineering Grad program. This program understands your need to explore and learn, while giving you the opportunity to carve out your own career path. The program runs for 21 months, including 3 months of core-training and project work, followed by 18 months during which you will work directly for some incredible 2K-partnered studios, including Hangar13, HB, Visual Concepts, Firaxis, Mass Media Group and many more. Here, you will dive into the heart of the action, gaining hands-on experience across our remarkable portfolio of games.

Compensation, Benefits & Opportunities

The starting salary for the graduate program is €45,000, including salary reviews throughout the duration of the program. If you start the grad program today, you could be making €90,000 in three years.

Upon completing the 21-month program, you'll be primed for a full-time role within our studios, enabling you to continue your Engineering journey and contribute to shaping the future of 2K Games.

Graduate Training Program

This program starts July 2024 and will run for 21 months.

The 2K Engineering Graduate Program is your gateway to becoming a future Game Developer. Over 21 months, your personalized program will encompass:

  • Core Skills Rotation – Dive into 3 months of intensive training, building foundational competencies.

  • 3 Studio Rotations – Engage in 6-month stints at diverse 2K-partnered game studios. Immerse yourself in distinct specialization areas and projects.

Core Skills Rotation:

During the initial core skills rotation, learn to master essential skills required to operate in the business. This includes technical training in game engines, instructor-led project work and practical insight into professional conduct. Collaborate on exciting group projects, receive guided code reviews and excel within a professional ecosystem.

Studio Rotations:

In this program, you will get the opportunity to work hands-on with some of our incredible studios, actively contributing to different areas of specialization and projects across some of 2K’s well-known game portfolio. These rotations expose you to diverse engineering environments and cultures, enabling you to contribute to a range of exhilarating projects, including major releases! Placement details are organized based on factors like visa requirements, game timelines, and business needs. While primarily based in Dublin, you will have opportunities to visit other studios for designated periods (subject to visa constraints).

Each candidate will have the opportunity to complete 3 studio rotations in the 21-month duration of the program.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Graduate degree, in a relevant industry such as Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, etc.

  • Excellent programming skills.

  • Strong numerical and technical skills.

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, C#, Python (C++ is essential).

  • Solid understanding of fundamental algorithms and data structures, along with pattern familiarity.

  • Familiarity with source control (Perforce preferred).

  • Exceptional debugging and analytical capabilities.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Proactive and rapid learner, confident in tackling new challenges with little guidance.
