What We Need
The Employee Relations Specialist will conduct investigations into workplace concerns and support positive employee engagement by providing guidance and recommendations to resolve employee concerns. This role will work closely with the HR Business Partners, Legal and Compliance teams to promote equity, company values and accountability in the workplace and to respond appropriately and fairly to employee concerns. Though the Employee Relations Specialist will focus on resolving investigations, complaints and disciplinary actions, they will also provide pragmatic HR advice and assist the broader 2K Team with other employment issues and cross functional efforts, described below.
What You Will Do
Conduct prompt and thorough investigations into sensitive employee relations issues, and make objective recommendations based on findings. This includes: conducting investigatory interviews, collecting/reviewing relevant evidence, writing investigation reports, and delivering debriefs with relevant stakeholders
Ensure consistent application of policies and procedures
Formally respond to sensitive concerns and allegations as required by internal processes and/or external agencies
Foster effective relationships with HR teams, business leaders, and Employment Legal
Coach People Business Partners and managers on how to appropriately manage and resolve moderately complex ER issues
Partner with team members throughout the People organization to communicate and educate on policies, procedures, and compliance
Develop training and policy content on ER compliance issues and host regular training sessions for employees.
Partner with People Partners to develop data-driven solutions that highlight employee relations trends and inform decision-making.
Prepare employee separation notices and related documentation; conduct exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations; provides periodic reports to Human Resources Director and VP Global HR
Maintain various HR records
What Will Make You a Great Fit
4 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations relative to labor and employment issues (FMLA, FLSA, ADA, etc.)
Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds
Proficient in Google Suite, and HRIS systems; Workday experience a plus
Modeling respectful and empathetic behavior in difficult and uncomfortable situations surrounding an investigation
Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
Strong advocate for fairness, diversity, and inclusion
Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
Strong interpersonal skills
Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
Creative, flexible, and innovative team player
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Thorough understanding of California human resources principles and practices, including but not limited to wage and hour, employment law, safety, and EEO compliance
Proven ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, candidates, and groups of managers

The pay range for this position in California at the start of employment is expected to be between $65,000 and $100,000 per Year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an 'at-will position' and the company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
