A new ending included in Ballistic Moon’s remake of 2015’s Until Dawn suggests that a potential sequel to the title could be in the works (spoilers ahead!)

The details:

  • The game's new ending, which was uploaded to Reddit by u/crawlplays ahead of its official October 4 release, includes two post-credit scenes that hint at what may have happened to its cast after the game's events.

  • The first scene features Josh, played by Rami Malek, who, in the original title, would either die or be transformed into one of the game's creepy cannibalistic Wendigo monsters. However, the new cutscene implies that Josh survived, with a voiceover from Peter Stormare's Dr Hill claiming that he had found some sort of redemption.

  • The other scene focuses on the game's lead character, Hayden Panettiere's Sam, and takes place years after the events of Until Dawn. Sam is seen lying in her bed, unable to stop the heavy flow of blood from a wound on her arm, while an unknown voice calls her name. It's suggested that Sam may be suffering from some form of condition, as her nightstand is littered with numerous pill bottles, leading some fans to believe it could be a hallucination.

  • It's unclear whether these new endings will be explained in the future, but they do indicate that a sequel, spin-off, or DLC may be in the works. It's also possible that the cutscenes are related to the upcoming film adaptation of Until Dawn, which is being directed by David F. Sandberg and began shooting in August.
