The Witcher 3's mod tools are now in closed testing on Steam
Select users can now access CD Projekt RED's official mod editor for The Witcher 3, which will be released later this year.
The details:
The editor, dubbed "The Witcher 3 REDkit," is now available to Steam users who have requested access. More users will be granted access in batches, with the testing period lasting from April 16 to April 29.
A Steam Workshop beta for the tools has also been opened, and anyone can participate as long as they opt into the beta and join the required Steam group. To join the beta, players must select "workshop_test" from the Steam library's properties menu.
CD Projekt also shared that the mod tools are based on those used to create The Witcher 3 itself and that they "should allow for nearly limitless freedom in modding" the game. Players will be able to create custom animations, models, quests, areas, and more according to its Steam description, and it will only be available on PC.
