Runa: An Upcoming Indie Adventure Inspired by JRPG Classics
Runa

Runa, is a captivating adventure game that draws inspiration from beloved classics like Final Fantasy, Persona, and Golden Sun. Developed by Runa Felix, a talented solo developer based in Madrid, the game is being crafted using the power of Unreal Engine 5 to bring to life a story-rich science fantasy world.

One of the standout features of Runa is its turn-based battle system, which pays homage to the JRPG classics that have left an indelible mark on gaming history. But that's not all – the game also incorporates a social link system, enabling players to form meaningful connections with characters and deepen their engagement with the narrative.

Despite the limited information available, the developer has been providing glimpses into the game's development through a series of videos. These videos offer a sneak peek at various in-game environments, including a location known as 'District 06,' nestled within the port city of Tuuken. Other environments show natural caves, waterfalls, and ancient machinery across the world.

Similar to the puzzle-solving mechanics in the revered Golden Sun series, Runa introduces dungeons where players must decipher elemental puzzles to progress. This nod to the classics adds an element of nostalgia while infusing the game with its own unique charm. The game's weather system can also change dynamically on specific maps.

Additionally, Runa showcases a network of portals that grant players the ability to traverse the expansive world seamlessly. These portals not only facilitate travel but also contribute to the game's sense of interconnectedness, weaving a web of exploration and discovery.

With its turn-based combat, social links, and richly detailed world, Runa is poised to make a memorable impact upon its release. You can find the follow the game on Kickstarter here.
