The Engineering Manager position will play a key role in helping guide the future of Zynga web properties and internal web-based applications.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Architect, design, build, debug & maintain Zynga customer-facing web sites and internal web applications
Identify potential scalability, security, and design limitations and make optimizations
Roll out new development frameworks and engineering best practices with the team
Mentor & coach frontend and backend developers and collaborate closely with infrastructure engineers
Write technical documentation and architecture designs for review with engineering leadership

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

6+ years of hands-on web development experience
2+ years of engineering management experience and/or experience as a principal/senior engineer mentoring junior developers
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent.
Significant programming experience in JavaScript/TypeScript and one or more frameworks such as React JS (preferred) or Angular JS
Expertise in HTML, CSS, and frameworks such as Bootstrap
Knowledge of AWS (particularly CloudFront, Route53 for DNS management, IAM, EC2, load balancers, S3, VPC, and CloudWatch)
Experience coding in Java, Python, Golang or PHP is a plus
Strong technical writing skills
Ability to follow common software engineering best practices, such as SCM, code reviews, and automated testing.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills

PREFERRED SKILLS:

Experience with mobile development for iOS and Android (particularly using React Native)
Web asset management, cache control, compression, strategies, and other optimization techniques
CMS experience (WordPress, etc)
Localization experience
Accessibility experience
Knowledge of the mobile landscape and emerging technologies
Experience with LESS/SASS
Passion for games and gaming a plus!
