ZeniMax Online Studios is looking for an experienced World Builder to join our team to work on a new unannounced AAA IP. The ideal candidate will have experience creating large open world environments as well as more crafted interior play spaces. The World Builder will collaborate with level designers, quest designers, writers and other artists in order to develop well composed, functional, fun and engaging 3D spaces. The World Builder will be responsible for taking a play space a level designer has laid out and delivering a polished and final playable version of those world spaces.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Level Designers and Narrative Designers to do art passes on 3D world spaces. This would include editing and painting terrain, propping, and lighting to bring world spaces to final and polished state
  • Collaborate with asset creation art team on assets for propping work
  • Collaborate with designers to make sure polish work maintains the vision of the play space
  • Make sure visuals match the games style and lore
  • Check metrics to make sure play spaces run as desired
  • Fix bugs during polish phase

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional industry experience as a World Builder or Level Designer
  • Experience working with proprietary world building tools in development
  • Experience with any terrain editing tools
  • Excellent understanding of environmental design and its functions within a game
  • Excellent composition & lighting skills
  • Candidates must show an aptitude for learning new systems quickly
  • Must submit work samples - finished levels and/or block out levels demonstrating composition and gameplay

Preferred Skills

  • Level design experience a plus
  • Knowledge of Houdini a Plus
  • Knowledge of Unreal Engine a plus
  • Knowledge of Photoshop a plus
