Overview

ZeniMax Online Studios is seeking an experienced Technical Writer to join our engineering team. This role will be tasked with writing, editing, and maintaining an internal set of technical documentation and its repository, in coordination with the technical teams. The technical writer will work closely with product owners, producers, engineers, and technical leads to manage priorities and gather the requisite information for development of high-quality, thorough technical documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the effort in technical documentation updates by sorting through existing documentation and setting standards to ensure specialized topics are appropriately addressed
  • Work with technical teams to obtain an understanding of products to translate complex product information into simple, polished, and engaging content
  • Draft, edit, finalize, and internally publish technical documentation outlining tech products
  • Generate and ensure accuracy of workflow and architecture diagrams
  • Structure documents, accounting for brevity, accuracy, and accessibility for end users
  • Use Confluence to organize, streamline, and maintain internal documentation repository for ease-of-access, logical organization, and increased usability for end users
  • Provide guidance on how to best organize and maintain quality documentation as systems evolve
  • Proactively solicit, gather, and manage stakeholder and customer feedback
  • Communicate and coordinate regularly with departmental leadership to review and ensure technical documentation goals are identified and met

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of software technical writing experience
  • Proven efficiency in delivering comprehensive, accurate technical documents within time constraints
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Experience working on multiple documents concurrently
  • Proven ability to design and write technical documentation targeted to a software engineering audience
  • Excellent written and oral communication and organizational skills, with the ability to distinguish technical language

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Confluence
  • Experience creating various types of workflow diagrams
  • Knowledge of software development
  • Experience working in Agile, SCRUM, or other dynamic work environments
  • A passion for gaming
