The Wargaming mobile development studio MS-1, creators of World of Tanks Blitz, the world-renowned cross-platform shooter game with over 140 million downloads around the globe, is looking for an experienced UX/UI Designer who will join the 2D Art Core Team.

Our team takes part in all decisions on the overall visual style of the project, is responsible for the UX, UI, and 2D content of WoT Blitz, and ensures that all developed functionalities are easy to use. Working with us, you'll gain unique experience developing UX for a game that functions on both mobile and PC platforms, and receive access to unique opportunities provided by Wargaming for UX testing, using cutting-edge technologies. You'll work on a truly Agile project and learn how to make complex things very simple.

In Blitz, we have a very close-knit team where UX interacts with development at all stages of feature creation and everyone can contribute to improving the game and making it really cool. We need a specialist who has not only extensive UX/UI design experience, but also one who frequently plays games, who is familiar with the mechanics of shooters, and who is ready to work on a AAA game as part of a team of world-class professionals.

What will you do?

  • Work in the core design team that develops the design system used by the product teams and is responsible for the overall look and feel of the game
  • Take ownership of the full cycle of feature development, from the initial idea to post-release analysis
  • Develop mock-ups and turn visions into concepts, together with the game designer and the product owner/producer
  • Create dynamic interface prototypes
  • Develop your own comprehensive mock-ups in accordance with the existing design system, and participate in its support and development
  • Design animation and effects, prepare requirements for UI developers and FX designers
  • Prepare mock-ups designed for different resolutions and devices
  • Assign and manage tasks for UX copywriters and 2D artists to create graphic content required for UI
  • Support features under development
  • Act as a customer for UX research of your own features for internal UX laboratories
  • Take responsibility for post-release interface analysis
  • Keep the working tools (UI-kit and source files) used for your own features updated
  • Participate in cross-reviewing the work of your fellow designers
  • Take responsibility for redesigning outdated interfaces

What are we looking for?

  • 3+ years of experience as a UX/UI designer in a product company (experience in gamedev will be a plus)
  • Experience in designing mobile interfaces
  • Good command of Abstract, Sketch, and Adobe Photoshop
  • Confident working with prototyping and animation design tools
  • Experience of organizing and carrying out usability tests
  • Ability to work remotely as part of a team
  • Understanding of HTML/CSS layout principles
  • Vast experience in playing shooters
  • Up-to-date portfolio

What will help you stand out?

  • Extensive cross-platform gaming experience (iOS/Android/Steam/Nintendo Switch), including World of Tanks Blitz
  • Experience of working with version control systems (Git)
  • Pre-intermediate or higher level of English (can read documentation and communicate with English-speaking coworkers)
