What will be your main challenges?

  • Define, champion, and communicate the game art vision.
  • Support the game production with hands-on work when required, across all areas of art.
  • Champion an art production workflow allowing your game team to test ideas fast.
  • Help with the recruitment of the best talents to execute the artistic vision.
  • Mentor artists from all levels within your team, and maintain a high level of craft excellence in a friendly atmosphere.
  • Collaborate with all other functions, manage stakeholders' expectations, and be a positive driver for change.

What do we expect?

  • About 3+ years working as Lead Artist or Art Director for casual mobile games.
  • About 6+ years of experience in the mobile gaming industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of game art best practices (including 2D, 3D, animation, VFX) and industry-standard art creation tools. Working knowledge of Unity game engine.
  • Experience working with UI for casual games.
  • A keen eye for detail, ability to know what good art looks like, and give clear directions for how to get there.
  • Great fundamental art skills (lighting, color, volume, anatomy, composition) and knowledge of graphic design principles.
  • Excellent presentation and english communication skills.
  • High resilience and positive attitude towards change.
  • Positive mindset towards receiving and acting on feedback. Ability to give constructive feedback with impact.
  • Understanding of the free-to-play gaming market and KPIs, with a data-driven approach when it comes to decision-making.

The Barcelona Casual team is developing a new mobile casual puzzle game and is looking for a lead artist to reinforce their ranks.
