Summary

We are looking for a technical evangelist to accelerate adoption of R&D tools.

The ideal candidate is a great public speaker/organizer with strong knowledge of art production topics, and good knowledges of IT topic and programming topics. You are independent and keep an eye open for any problems. You will work closely with R&D team to train and answer any questions from art production team.

You will be part of Virtuos R&D team, who will share experience and help out if deeper knowledge is required. During your work you will be exposed to various workflows and technologies, giving you many opportunities to expand your skills!

Responsibilities

  • Act as a salesman, whose main focus will be to increase adopters/users count.
  • Train art teams in use of specific tools and best practices.
  • Make public demo of new key features at each tool milestone.
  • Create video and artistic content to showcase the qualities of tools developed.
  • Day-to-day support of our art teams – for all the tools developed by R&D.
  • Installation and troubleshooting of art software, plugins and scripts.
  • Supporting producers and team leaders in planning deployment of tools.

Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • English and Mandarin Chinese (Vietnamese) skills required.
  • Good knowledge of Maya, 3D Studio Max or Blender
  • Basic / Intermediate knowledge of 3D Studio Max script, MEL or Python.
  • General MS Windows and IT troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of revision control systems, such as SVN, Perforce
  • Independent.
  • Pro-active, showing initiative.

Bonuses

  • DOS Batch programming or Windows Powershell.
  • Networking knowledge (e.g. Windows, TCP/IP).
  • Shipped a game as technical artist.
  • Game engine experience, e.g. Unreal, Unity.
  • Rigging and animation knowledge.

Portfolio

A portfolio is required for this position. There is no specific format, but it has to be representative, showing your skills and experience. When submitting individual pieces scripts, images or videos, you must submit a document explaining your contribution and the nature of the piece, e.g. title, software used, professional or personal work, purpose of the script, etc.
