We are currently recruiting an Operations Manager to join our amazing team at Vertigo VR. Vertigo VR is the only Virtual Reality Centre in the UK offering room scale and motion virtual reality experiences, eSports gaming area and 5D cinema under one roof in the heart of revamped city centre of Milton Keynes. This is where games become reality.

Position Summary

The Operations Manager will be an essential role in ensuring we deliver this cutting-edge experience at the optimal level to all our guests.

On a daily basis, the role will be the on-site duty manager and manage a team to ensure that the overall experience is executed at the highest level. This role will oversee the safety and enjoyment of guests and job satisfaction of staff, as well as the success of daily operations of the VertigoVR experiences.

Scope & Responsibilities

Managing day-to-day operations of the venue, you will be responsible for performing a variety of duties, whilst ensuring that service delivery is smooth, efficient and memorable. Responsibilities will include deputizing for the General Manager, managing and leading a great enthusiastic team, overseeing recruitment, completing daily & weekly reports, identifying and implementing training, managing guest escalations and leading regular team meetings. You will be working to enhance our guest experience.

Background & Experience

You will be a highly self-motivated, performance focused individual, with a wide variety of experience working in entertainment industries or similar. Previous VR experience would be beneficial but not essential. Excellent customer service experience.

Other Requirements

  • Minimum three years’ experience in a management position
  • Computer-literate with Excel knowledge
  • A clear understanding and experience of health & safety management
  • Skills and knowledge to oversee the operations
  • Ability to take initiative and remain calm under pressure
  • Responsible for all cash flow reporting
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills
  • 100% Flexible (evening and weekend work will be required)

  • Salary £24k - £28k (£9.5 to £10 per hour) depending on experience
