POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director, Business Operations for the eSports franchise, the Vancouver Titans, is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of the franchise, including the execution necessary to maximize the team’s sales and marketing objectives and exceed budget. The successful candidate will also be responsible for managing all day-to-day and business operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the operation and management of the Vancouver Titans eSports team
  • Foster strong relationships with League and Blizzard personnel, while developing connections with other teams and potential partners
  • Develop and execute best-in-class marketing and operations strategies and supporting plans for training/operations
  • Follow the operational status of the eSports team and propose iterative plans to align with the current situation
  • Monitor, analyze, and lead all work related to eSports events
  • Craft and execute the Team’s annual sales budget, business plan, and strategy
  • Drive forward all business operations, sponsorship sales, ticket sales (for Vancouver-based events), community relations, marketing, advertising, and promotions
  • Manage, coach, and mentor a team of staff on a direct or dotted-line basis, including all revenue producing areas such as sales and corporate partnership staff members
  • Responsible for the Team’s P/L, operations, and new media publications
  • Create close relationships with key constituents within the marketplace such as community and business executives
  • Manage all Team/Player related issues to facilitate successful Team performance
  • Work with Luminocity executing service agreements and developing relationships
  • Serve as a committed and responsible member of the company’s Leadership team

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-Secondary degree in business or a related discipline i.e. marketing and sales, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; MBA strongly preferred
  • 3 years’ experience within the eSports gaming industry
  • Proven business operations leadership experience
  • Demonstrated creativity in the development of innovative and effective sales and marketing campaigns
  • Possesses strong conceptual and strategic skills, and able to think outside the box
  • Assertive, action-oriented individual possessing a high degree of initiative and known to have the knack for getting things done
  • Strong creative skills and a thorough understanding of live eSports events
  • Committed to a vision of service and entertainment that will thrill fans and provide an ultimate eSports fan experience
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills, with the ability to read and interpret documents, write reports and to speak effectively to both clients and employees
  • Positive team spirit, professionalism
