The Assistant Director is responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive eSports Program.

Essential Duties:

  • Develop a comprehensive eSports program including competitive and recreational aspects.
  • Develop long-term strategic partnerships with key game developers, eSports leagues and hardware manufactures.
  • Responsible for the identification and recruitment of athletes and teams
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive set of guidelines and policies relating to player recruitment, allowable practice time, class attendance, potential scholarships and prize winnings.
  • Management, maintenance and upkeep of eSports equipment and space to be used by competitive team as well as general students.
  • Manage the day to day operations of the eSports teams, including management of rosters, practices, competitions and travel
  • Set the final rosters for each competitive team.
  • Identify industry best practices as it relates to team structure practice times and academic standards.
  • Planning, management and evaluation of program budgets (preparation, monitoring, and purchasing), payroll, and fiscal activities for the eSports program area.
  • Compile assessments and results in the eSports program.
  • Manage the hiring, interviewing, scheduling, and evaluation for student staff in the eSports program.
  • Performs other duties assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education, Recreation, Leisure Studies, eSports or related field. One year of experience in eSports or related field required. Experience must include participation in eSports as a coach and/or participant, demonstrated work in a team environment.
  • Must possess ability to operate general office equipment and excellent written and verbal communication skills. CPR Certified or able to acquire within 6 months of employment.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s Degree in Recreations, Leisure Studies, or related field.
